What is Salve?
We’ve been crafting small batches of comfrey salve for nearly 30 years, using a time-honored family recipe. This salve is made the old-fashioned way, no shortcuts. Herbs are mingled for weeks in fine avocado and/or olive oils before they make their way into the pot, where it comes together with responsibly-sourced African Shea Butter and genuine beeswax from local organic farms.
Salve is a medicinal ointment for healing or relieving wounds, rashes and other skin conditions. It contains natural oils, herbs and waxes for topical application. Salve also happens to be the perfect delivery system for cannabinoids like CBD, as they bind to the fine oils used in salves for optimal transdermal delivery. Spiritually speaking, the word salve also refers to anything that may soothe, relieve or elevate one’s state of mind.

Theez Topical Comfrey Salve does not contain bulk CBD isolates or commodity hemp oil. We extract our own oils from organic hemp from our partner farms, which means every jar is packed with whole hemp plant material, not just CBD.

Known as knitbone, its leaves and roots are nature’s perfect healing herb. WHY ADD HEMP?
Hemp flowers are where the highest concentration of CBD, terpenes and other cannabinoids are found. While hemp is traditionally grown for its versatile fibrous stalks, it can also produce potent buds, like those grown by our Oregon hemp farming partners. Theez Topical Comfrey Salve is infused with lipid-extracted and decarboxylated broad-spectrum hemp flower oil rich in CBD and other cannabinoids. Full-spectrum is essential, because hemp isn’t just about CBD — its benefits are best experienced when as many of its constituents as possible are present. That’s why we never use isolates. And because it’s made with legally grown, organic Oregon hemp, it’s naturally THC-free. Our hemp oil provides approximately 120 mg activated CBD per ounce of product, in addition to the multitude of other terpenes, phytos, alkaloids and minor cannabinoids. Our blend of premium carrier oils like organic olive and avocado oils ensures the hemp flower oil is bioavailable and readily absorbed into the skin.
